Frequent Concerns

All flooring  products are not created equally. The environment and service conditions dictate what type of flooring system is required. For example, Battery Charging areas require a chemical
resistant system, while Loading Docks require a high traffic system. Tennant has developed a full line of Urethanes and Epoxies to allow a custom approach to achieving your goals for your facility.

At Tennant, all products are formulated and tested by the Floor Coating Solution Group. Each batch is tested at the factory and also at the laboratory at corporate headquarters. Samples of all batches are retained for 2 years as part of our Quality Control Policy. All flooring systems are put through a battery of tests following strict procedures administrated by the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM). The products are then extensively field tested prior to being offered to our customers. Custom blending of colors to match a corporate logo is acceptable because pigments do affect the wear properties of the floor system. Why gamble with a one of a kind, untested "Custom Blend" product for your facility.

Shotblaster is very effective, but there are several methods for preparing concrete that are just as effective. Shotblasting does not remove grease and oil for instance. Nor can shotblasting remove existing flooring over 30 mils. Shotblasting does remove a portion of the wear surface (the cap of the concrete) and should only be used when required to achieve the necessary profile. That is why Tennant and their Authorized Contractors use a variety of preparation methods to achieve the required results. Tennant pioneered the development of the ECO-PREP machine to safely remove existing coatings without damaging the cap of your concrete and without generating any hazardous waste. many contractors cannot chemically prepare a floor either due to lack of equipment, proper training, or proper chemicals. Tennant conducts extensive training for their Authorized Contractors. This insures you that the floor will be prepared properly to receive the recommended flooring system.

When using a Tennant Authorized Contractor you are assured that the work will be performed in strict adherence to all product specifications and safety guidelines.

References for Tennant product installations can be obtained from the regional Authorized Contractor and also from installations throughout North America. This enables you to contact the references you feel have the same type of facility.

Tennant established their Authorized Contractor network to allow for the offering of a joint warranty to cover both material and labor. The relationship between Tennant and the Authorized Contractor is a true partnering agreement to offer the best possible products and services to our customers. Customer Service after the installation is also of paramount concern to all parties. First, after the installation you will be contacted by the contractor for any questions you may have and to present you with a quide for maintaining your floor. Second, you will be contacted by an independent marketing firm approximately 60 days after the installation for any questions or input you may have. Last but not least, both your Tennant representative and your Contractor representative are local, and are available to answer any questions you may have.
